People often wonder what herpes looks like ?   Does it always look like these photos ?  No.   Genital herpes can  present as a sub clinical infection.  What does this mean?  This means herpes doesn't need to look like a cluster of blisters.  Sometimes genital herpes looks like a red irritated rash without blisters.   It is usually itchy, and sometimes painful. The first outbreak is usually the time it looks worse.  Recurrent outbreaks usually look minor, and don't last as long.  Since herpes can be inside the vagina, sometimes it isn't doesn't feel like an external vaginal herpes outbreak.  This is the reason some people don't know they have it, and why it can be easily passed.
